Computational time-resolved imaging
Classical photography uses steady-state illumination and light sensing with focusing optics to capture scene reflectivity as images; temporal variations of the light field are not exploited. This thesis explores the use of time-varying optical illumination and time-resolved sensing along with signal modeling and computational reconstruction. Its purpose is to create new imaging modalities, and ...
متن کاملImproved Time-Resolved, 3D Phase Contrast Imaging through Variable Poisson Sampling and Partial Respiratory Triggering
INTRODUCTION Time-resolved 3-dimensional phase-contrast MR imaging (4D-PC MRI) has been shown to be an important tool in a wide variety of research applications, such as wall shear stress measurements [1], aortic pulse wave velocity measurements [2], and the investigation of flow patterns in the heart [3]. The adoption of this technique in routine clinical imaging is primarily hampered by two i...
متن کاملTime-resolved diffusing wave spectroscopy applied to dynamic heterogeneity imaging.
We report what is to our knowledge the first observation of a time-resolved diffusing wave spectroscopy (DWS) signal recorded by transillumination through a thick turbid medium: the DWS signal is measured for a fixed photon transit time, which opens the possibility of improving the spatial resolution. This technique could find biomedical applications, especially in mammography.
متن کاملTime-resolved fluorescence anisotropy imaging applied to live cells.
We have developed a wide-field time-resolved imaging system to image quantitatively both the fluorescence lifetime and the rotational correlation time of a fluorophore. Using a polarization-resolved imager, we simultaneously image orthogonal polarization components of the fluorescence emission onto a time-gated intensified CCD. We demonstrate imaging of solvent viscosity variations through the ...
متن کاملPhoton-Counting Arrays for Time-Resolved Imaging
The paper presents a camera comprising 512 × 128 pixels capable of single-photon detection and gating with a maximum frame rate of 156 kfps. The photon capture is performed through a gated single-photon avalanche diode that generates a digital pulse upon photon detection and through a digital one-bit counter. Gray levels are obtained through multiple counting and accumulation, while time-resolv...
